Rephrase Colin Farrell won an early accolade at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, which are being held in Los Angeles.
Farrell was acclaimed for his performance as the titular Banshees in Inisherin, receiving praise from all quarters for his comedic brilliance.
Director Kevin Smith said that he never expects his films to find an audience, and when they do it’s quite a surprise for him. He added that making movies is simply something he does because he loves it, without expecting anything in return.
Other winners so far include actors Michelle Yeoh and Gina Rodriguez, both of whom were victorious for their roles in award-winning theatrical productions.

According to a press release, Farrell will reunite with director Martin McDonagh and co-star Brendan Gleeson for the upcoming film The Banshees of Inisherin. The trio previously collaborated on the cult hit film In Bruges.
Actor Liam Neeson praised director Martin McDonagh after seeing his latest movie, telling him that it changed the course of his life. Farrell joked back by thanking McDonagh for this “fateful” outcome.
“Brendan, I love you so much. Seeing as how I always wanted to be equal to you, it was all worth it just being in your presence.”
She was awarded the prestigious award for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, which solidified her position as one of today’s top comedic actresses.
Yeoh mentioned that she turned 60 last year, and remarked how it seems like opportunities for women become harder to come by as the years go on.
“It’s natural to feel bittersweet after a career highlight like working with some of the best people,” said an executive. “And then came the greatest gift – having everything we ever wanted all at once.”
The movie “Yeoh” features the actress playing a laundrette worker who travels through different universes, each version of herself featuring unique experiences.
Earlier in the night, Ke Huy Quan was awarded best supporting actor for his performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
The star of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, who acted alongside Harrison Ford when he was a child, became emotional as he accepted the trophy for best supporting actor at this year’s Academy Awards.
“I am very proud to see Mr. Spielberg here tonight,” he said. “He has given so many people their first opportunity, and I hope that my story can help others achieve the same success.”
Actress Angela Bassett used her acceptance speech for best supporting actress in Wakanda Forever to praise the late Chadwick Boseman, who starred as T’Challa in the first Black Panther film. Bassett praised Boseman’s dedication and passion for his work on behalf of black Americans, saying that he will be remembered long after his death.
“Chadwick Boseman and I were together from the beginning of this journey. We were surrounded by his light and spirit every day,” she said.
The Black Panther series is part of black history, and its legacy is that it helped to lead the world in understanding black unity, leadership, and love. This was demonstrated beyond just on-screen actions by the cast and crew; this project showed how these values are important even when not visible to the naked eye.
So far, two stars from the popular school comedy Abbott Elementary – Tyler James Williams and Quinta BrunsonBrunson – have won awards in the TV categories.
In the Grammy Awards’ various music categories, Justin Hurwitz was awarded for his score to the Broadway musical Hamilton, while Naatu Naatu from the Indian action film RRR received best original song honors.
The song performed very well in its category, beating out competition from popular pop music stars such as Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
